Basilique Saint-Quentin

 This is a photo of the Basilique Saint-Quentin, in the picard city of ... Saint-Quentin ^^ this roman martyr of the 3rd century give his name to the city because he evangelize Gallia Belgica (the northern France), he was buried in this city (capitale of the gallo-roman Viromandian tribe) and a chapel was built on his grave.
 This basilique was built in the 12th-13th century to replace this chapel.

 As many building of northern France, he was harshly ravaged in the first World War. It became again a religious building lately, only in 1956 due to these destructions.

 Voici une photo de la Basilique Saint-Quentin, dans la ville picarde de ... Saint-Quentin ^^ ce martyr romain du IIIe siècle a donné son nom à la ville car il évangélisa la Gaule Belgique et fut enterré dans cette ville (alors capitale du peuple des Viromandiens). Une chapelle fut alors construit sur sa tombe, et cette Basilique lui succéda au 12e-13e siècle.

 Comme beaucoup de bâtiments du nord de la France, elle fut sévèrement ravagée lors de la Première Guerre Mondiale, et ne fut rendu au culte que tardivement, en 1956, à cause de ces destructions.
